Some info about Tymon Ferenc de Laat

Tymon is always in search of contrast, this in the broadest sense of the word. His work is often being described as energetic with a touch of pop & street art. The choice of his subjects vary, but often link back to the adventures abroad. Tymon includes his travel photography in the sketch/painting process. For most of his paintings he uses mixed media like Acrylics, Mediums, Markers, Artists' Oilbar, Spraycan, Brushes. Also Commissions, Murals and clothing/shoe customizing are part of what he does.
Tymon Ferenc de Laat was born in 1979 and grew up in Delft, a town with a rich art history. In 2001 he graduated from the Willem de Kooning Academy as a Art-Director. Because of Tymon’s Advertising background there is a reflection of popular culture to be found in his works. He seeks the tension between art and commerce and flirts with the taboo. The inspiration for his paintings comes from many trips around the world backpacking with a brush and camera. Especially Central and South America have left a colorful imprint. Since 09-2012 Tymon opened up MeLikePainting Art Gallery/Studio in Rotterdam city center.

De in 1979 geboren Tymon Ferenc de Laat studeerde in 2001 af aan de Willem de Kooning Academie als Art-Director. Door Tymon’s Advertising achtergrond is er vaak een spiegeling uit de populaire cultuur terug te vinden in zijn werk. Hij zoekt het spanningsveld tussen kunst en commercie op en flirt met het taboe. Zijn werk is geïnspireerd door vele jaren reizen om de wereld en is voornamelijk erg kleurrijk. Naast schilderen is Tymon ook actief als reisfotograaf en verwerkt graag zijn eigen geschoten beelden in z’n doeken, dit maakt het tot een geheel eigen creatie. Ook werk in opdracht behoort tot de mogelijkheden. In 2011 zijn 5 werken opgenomen in de internationale kunst collectie van de World Art Games en het museum van Vukovar te Kroatie. Hiernaast heeft hij verschillende opdrachten gedaan voor Southern Comfort, Stolichnaya, Levi’s, Kunst en Living kunstbeurs & Cardinal condoms. Tymon exposeert zowel bij diverse kunst galerieën, kunst websites als bij winkels en cafés in de Randstad om dat hij vind dat dit dicht bij de mens staat.
