The"Weena Zuid's Got Balls" project of Tymon Ferenc de Laat and Bikkel Artist is done. With help of kroonpart verf , the municipality and donations from the shop owners in the street we realized to create our idea within 2 weeks. A colorful facelift to the Weena Zuid street has brought many smiles and photo moments to people walking by. We are looking for simple and affordable solutions with great impact. the street of the MeLikePainting gallery/studio could do with a little boost, so Bikkel artist and me decided to bring some color to the "Weena Zuid". By origin these concrete colorless balls are supposed to prevent car ramming burglary. This easy transformation does a lot for the look of the street and is an excellent way to get the gallery vibe out on the street. If it makes you smile we have done our job. Let's color the world around us. |

hey Peeps, Just a post to let you know that i'm very excited and honored to represent the Netherlands on the World Art Games in Croatia the 8th till 15th of may. This Art colony will have 20 artists from 20 different countries that will have to paint 2 paintings in a week time. These paintings will be put in a new museum in Vukovar, and later that year the paintings will be going on tour through Croatia. The painting i'm planning to make there are in the style of the mexican faces. A man travels the world in search of something that he finds at home. Because in order to appreciate the rest of the world you should not feel at home anywhere else than home. For 11 months every day was a new discovery and I thank all the people that we met for being so kind to us to lift the veil to their version of the world. Locals aswell as fellow travelers, you made this experience to what it really is. The time has come to get back to the studio and get my hand soaked in paint. Also will there be a photo expo in a month or two with a selection of my best travel pics. fellow creative souls, 5 Months after leaving Rotterdam, Holland we are now in North Cambodia, Ratanakiri. In the past time a lot has happened since we have been living out of our backpack. Here is a photo diary of the stuff we daily get to see when strolling marketplaces, rural areas and cityscapes with my newly bought Canon 5D mark II. Little by little i'm getting more accustomed to my new camera and get to try the possibilities. What better place to try and learn when every day is a new visual challenge ahead of you. Hopefully this series will be translated into a photo exposition when we return to our beloved country. These photos will be for sale and if you are interested mail me.
